Mimesis- Porcelain Heart Series

Mîmesis or ‘imitation’ is a body of work consisting of 60+ hand cast 4" x 5" x 4” porcelain hearts. Each work tends to imitate the anatomical organ but also went through a physical metamorphosis the same way humans have literally changed the true meaning of the word ‘heart’. This iconic symbol has poetic, historical and sensual connotations to its actual function. These hearts become personifications of themselves with mythological references. They emit the human condition for want or need to know who we are, and where are we going.
