vehicle: • a thing used in transport • a thing used to express, embody, or fulfill • the figurative language used in a metaphor • a substance that facilitates pigment or other material mixed with it • a machine usually with wheels
A year ago I returned to a one-off painting experiment made in 2000 titled ‘Vehicle’. It seemed to fulfill itself not only by embodying the seduction of paint, form, and reduction, but by dictating its own needs, limitations, possibilities --- and lastly, moving forward in a stop-action manner.
